Earth-friendly Metal Sculptures-Haitian artisans recycle 55-gallon metal drums into this lustrous wall hanging. Detailed hammered cutwork celebrates the natural world.

Product Features

  • Hand-crafted from cast-off 55 gallon steel drums, artists in Haiti follow four generations of tradition in metal sculpture.
  • The artist first visualizes his design, often taking inspiration from his culture and natural surroundings.
  • Next, he chalks his design onto the flattened metal and then, using only a hammer and chisel, gives the sculpture form and dimension.
  • The result is a unique piece of folk art, perfect for home or garden use.
  • These sculptures are great indoor or out~ For outdoor use the varnish will wear away over time and the sculpture will begin to rust naturally or you can maintain the original look by spraying it with a clear enamel every couple of years~

ONE IN A MILLION I have to say that I was amazed and delighted when I received my package. First of all, I was just expecting to open up the flat box and receive my numbers, well….. SURPRISE!!!!. It was opening an unexpected gift. My numbers came hand wrapped in bright green tissue paper with pink ribbon and a hand made rose along with a hand written note. The packing slip was hand checked with another thank you and info pamphlet on It’s Cactus. I will be visiting your web page. I also wanted to say that…

Best online purchase by far! When my package arrived it was wrapped like an actual gift. As I unwrapped it I was so excited because for once I bought something online that was even better than expected! These are the coolest house numbers I have ever seen and they are not expensive. I was deeply touched knowing how and where these were made and the personal hand written note that they hoped I liked them. I don’t know these people, I’m not a friend trying to boost their sales, I rarely take time to comment on my buying…
